Break out of the box

I had a great time with my guitar students this week.
We did guitar finger exercises to " break out of the box".
The idea of this guitar lesson is trying to limit yourself to one string high E then your G, then to only these two strings, then play a vamp.

It is frustrating, but it focus you to use a part of your guitar mind that you don't normally use. This concept can be done in many variations. Using one finger, for example, if you use your 4th finger only to improvise over that groove you know you kill on. Try it with your 4th finger only.

We all love to play the things that remind us how hard we worked to get to this point. Try it, you won't be disappointed.
